I turned 35 a few weeks ago, and I felt like I wanted to mark my mid thirties. I've loved the thirties; my twenties were like a stormy ocean, I didn't know when life would settle and what it would look like, who I'd be with, whether I'd be happy, just what would happen in every area of life. don't get me wrong, I was having fun - just that sometimes it would've been really nice if ten years older me could come back and say, don't worry - it's going to be okay.
But my thirties have given me the stability I craved out of my twenties in all areas of my life. People tell you life just gets better, and when I was in my twenties in London, with a great group of friends, very little responsibility past paying my bills, loads of free time - and living in LONDON! - I really didn't think it could get much better!
But now I totally get it. There's so much more to be grateful for, to be humbled for.
So to celebrate my mid thirties, a funny joke with a friend ended up with me throwing myself an adult cake smash session. And it was SO FUN! I can see why the little ones love it! I had the set up already from a cake smash I'd done the day before so all I had to do was get the little ones on board to style me, retrieve the last of my cake and the bottle of Prosecco my lovely brother in law had gifted me, put on some Blondie (Ohhh your hair is beaauuttiifuuuuul) and I was good to go. It was silly, it was funny, it really was just what I never knew I wanted to do!
If you like the look of having a adult cake smash, contact me and we'll talk! I am based in #countyarmagh but also do cake smashes outdoors so can travel to wherever you are - check out this link to see pics of that! They're of little people but, you know, just put your face on theirs ;)
