ABOUT ME!
I am Nicki, hello! I live in Clady, County Armagh (between Armagh and Newry). I've been taking photos since I was seventeen and my Dad handed me his old Pentax, I fell in love with photography and set up a darkroom in their battered old shed. I am a self taught photographer, and have been taking photos personally and professionally for over twenty years. As I'm always keen to learn more I'm often attending courses and workshops.
I met the love of my life, a Clady man, at university. We moved here from London, we have two beautiful daughters and a little boy, a dog called Wolfie, and three cats.
One of my favourite things about photography is how you can project a person's character, or capture their personality, or the hilarity of a moment, and that image is there forever. I love nothing more than someone seeing a photo I've taken and saying, 'Oh, that's SO them!' It makes me so happy!
In my work, I'm always looking for how I can make the next photo different, and creative. I'm thinking about how can I make these photos unique to that person/people; I try to look for the more unusual angles to create quirky images. I love to make someone giggle just as I'm snapping the shutter; if there's a kid pulling a face, I pull one back!
I am an outdoors photographer, so I don't use studios at all; I use natural light and take my photos on location (your house, a forest, a park etc), and I like to keep photoshoots relaxed, casual, and fun.
