I recently was invited to take newborn and family photos at the Devlin house, where little baby Cadhla and her big brother Darragh were waiting! Darragh is a energetic, dynamic little fella who was full of beans. His sister was the opposite; not a peep came from her, she slept pretty much the whole session! He was dashing about and wasn't too keen to sit for photos when asked, but that was ok! Because he went away and did his own thing, then he came back and was more interested once he'd just had that moment he needed. He was on his turf; he had some control of the situation, and that made him easier to work with for everyone. And the photos speak for themselves; we took our time, it was relaxed and fun and Darragh even had a go taking photos!
If you're thinking of having photos taken of all the family, I'd really recommend an at home photo session. It keeps it relaxed and you'll end up with the sort of natural, funny, sweet precious memories that you can look at, smile, and remember when your children were babies. Even if they suddenly don't seem like babies anymore!
